PKO Bank Polski is the parent entity of the Group, the largest commercial bank in Poland and the leading bank on the Polish home market in terms of its scale of operations, equity, loans, deposits, number of customers and size of the distribution network. It is a universal bank that services individuals, legal entities, and other Polish and foreign entities.

Many generations of Poles have used the bank’s services. Long tradition and customer trust are important elements of our identity. We take consistent actions to consolidate the Group’s perception as an institution that is:

  • safe, strong and competitive,
  • modern and innovative, customer-friendly and efficiently managed,
  • socially responsible and taking care of the cultural awareness of Poles.

We effectively develop our operations beyond traditional retail banking. We also lead in servicing corporate customers, firms and companies, and providing financial services to communes, counties, provinces and to the budget sector.

Customers

We have leading shares in the Polish savings sector (18.4%), loans (17.9%) and the market for investment funds of individuals (20.1%). We are leaders in terms of the number of current accounts and payment cards maintained.

High customer service standards and effective credit risk assessment procedures allowed us to increase the Group’s portfolio of financing granted to customers to over PLN 245 bln. At the end of 2019, amounts due to customers reached over PLN 256 bln.

In 2019, we continued our activities to increase the effectiveness of our distribution network, which covers 1 155 branches and 538 agencies. Customers have access to modern e-banking services, offered under the iPKO brand, but also available via the Inteligo account and mobile banking – IKO. They also have a vast network of ATMs at their disposal.

Employees in the Group

We are one of the largest employers in Poland. Almost 28 thousand full-time employees (FTEs) are employed at the Group. We offer to them a comprehensive training and education offer, which is aimed at building a professional team of staff, capable of achieving effective work.

We pursue charity and sponsorship actions, in order to promote the bank’s image as a reliable financial institution, socially engaged, modern and open to customer needs.
